Ann Oram was born in London in 1956. She studied at Edinburgh College of Art between 1976 and 1982. She became a part-time lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art between 1983 and 1985, and again in 1991 to 1993. Ann was elected to RSW in 1986. “Ann Oram RSW paints in the grand tradition of the Scottish Colourists. Her floral paintings are exuberant celebrations of colour, bursting with life and vitality. Oram’s bold hues, strength of design, elegant paint handling and innovative approach to mixed media take colour sensation to a new level. Oram masterfully combines a variety of mediums including oils, watercolour, acrylic and ink to create ‘blooms’ of incandescent depth, reminiscent of Odilon Redon’s joyful still lifes.”
