Kirsty Doig
Kirsty Doig graduated in Sculpture and Design in the year 2000 at Duncan of Jordanstone college of Art and Design, Dundee, Scotland. Since then, she has successfully exhibited her works both nationally and internationally.
Her work has evolved from the study of psychology, combined with an exploration of the nature of being and consciousness. Kirsty's work expresses that "not only is it our thoughts, our physical embodiment and life experiences which help shape who we are, but also being in the present and connecting to everything around us. It allows us to have an understanding of consciousness, which is greater than our mind and body alone".
Kristy's bronze sculptures display her signature curiosity for patinas (green/brown surface of bronze metal produced by oxidation over a long period) - how have they developed and evolved over time? Her sculptures communicate to us through their beauty and individuality.
Kristy's animal collections are influenced by Scotland, by the landscape which surrounds and inspires her near her home in the Angus Glens.
