Jacob Topen

Jacob joined Gallery Franklin in November 2025 as Gallery Manager, supporting the gallery’s day-to-day running and programme, and producing digital content across web, social and video. Born in Perthshire, he has longstanding ties to St Andrews and attended Madras College.

Jacob holds a Master of Design with Distinction from Glasgow School of Art, where he frequently guest lectures, and a BA (Hons) in Film Production.

Before joining Gallery Franklin, he worked across artist studio and gallery environments in Scotland and London, photographing artworks for exhibitions and collectors internationally.

Jacob has a over a decade of experience as a creative across film, TV and advertising production. His directing work includes TV comedy for BBC Three / BBC iPlayer. He is currently producing Gallery Franklin’s first series of artist films, and the gallery looks forward to sharing more details soon.
