Jacob Topen

As Gallery Manager, Jacob supports the gallery’s day-to-day running and programme, while producing photography, film and other visual work for the gallery. Growing up in Perthshire, he has longstanding ties to St Andrews and attended Madras College.

Jacob holds a Master of Design with Distinction from Glasgow School of Art, and a BA (Hons) in Film Production. Before joining Gallery Franklin, he worked across artist studio and gallery environments in Scotland and London, photographing and filming artworks for exhibitions and collectors internationally.

Outside the gallery, he has over a decade of experience as a director and creative producer across film, TV and advertising. He is currently directing Gallery Franklin's first series of artist films.
